Los Angeles, CA – Internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Chris Pierce delivers a follow up to his critically acclaimed 2021 acoustic album “American Silence” with an LP offering “Let All Who Will” due out early 2023. The 15-song album, co/produced by Niko Bolas (Neil Young, The Mavericks) and Dave Resnik (Sonia Dada, Mavis Staples) was recorded in Hollywood, CA at the legendary Sunset Sound. The first single is an upbeat Roots/Americana/Adult Contemporary song called “45 Jukebox” co/written by Pierce and hit songwriter Sam Hollander (Panic! at the Disco, Fitz and the Tantrums, Train, G Love). Upon hearing the song for the first time, WXPN programmer Bruce Warren says: “For WXPN, this is an artist that our audience would embrace.”
Chris Pierce says about the song: “A traditional 45 Jukebox is a coin-operated phonograph with an illuminated cabinet, having a variety of records that can be selected by the drop of a dime and the push of a button. This song examines the journey as a songwriter and the internal process of the spirit for the songs to come to surface. It’s about the rigorous and demanding road of putting the truth on the line and wearing your heart on your sleeve day by day, night after night. There is a road to freedom in songwriting, recording and performing. It’s about being venerable and standing on the edge with your finger on the pulse, awaiting that drop of a dime and dedicating the soul and spirit to that moment when your song makes its way through the speaker and into the heart.”
45 Jukebox captures the sound of Americana, Roots & Blues, all supporting Pierce’s unmistakable soulfully dynamic vocal, acoustic guitar and harmonica. The song features an all-star personnel list of musicians including Doug Pettibone (Lucinda Williams, Ray LaMontagne), Michael Jerome (Richard Thompson, Blind Boys of Alabama), Kaveh Rastegar (John Legend, Bruce Springsteen), Kelvin Holly (Little Richard, Peggi Young), Deron Johnson (Miles Davis, Seal), Maiya Sykes (Macy Gray, Postmodern Jukebox), Jessica Childress (Aloe Blacc, Rod Stewart) and Charles Jones (Jennifer Hudson, Joy Oladokun).
